It is never too late for a beautiful, healthy, and balanced smile
Many adult patients come with the same thought: “I should have taken care of this earlier.”
The truth is that teeth can be moved at any stage of life, and orthodontic therapy for adults today is realistic, effective, and adapted to everyday life.
At the Ortho Rijeka clinic, we have a large number of adult patients — those who previously did not have the time, opportunity, or information that orthodontics could help them. We do not adapt therapy to unrealistic expectations and wishes, but to achievable goals, with a focus on function, health, and long-term stability of results.
ORTHODONTIC THERAPY ADAPTED TO ADULT PATIENTS
Orthodontics for adults is intended for individuals who are dissatisfied with the position of their teeth, bite function, or the appearance of their smile, as well as for those who require orthodontic preparation before prosthetic procedures.
Therapy is always planned individually, taking into account the existing condition of the teeth, bone, and bite, as well as the patient’s lifestyle, work, and personal priorities. The goals we set at the beginning of treatment determine realistic improvements that bring functional and aesthetic balance.
CROSSBITE
An improper relationship between the upper and lower teeth that can affect bite function, facial symmetry, and long-term stress on the jaw joints.
OPEN BITE
A condition in which the front teeth do not make contact, which can make chewing and speaking more difficult and affect bite stability.
Severe crowding of teeth
A lack of space for proper tooth alignment that makes oral hygiene more difficult and increases the risk of cavities and periodontal problems.
NARROW UPPER JAW
A constricted upper jaw that can cause problems with bite, breathing, or tooth alignment.
Progenia
A bite in which the lower jaw is positioned in front of the upper jaw, disrupting function, aesthetics, and bite balance.
DEEP BITE
Excessive overlap of the upper teeth over the lower teeth, which can lead to excessive tooth wear and strain on the supporting structures.
THERAPY ADAPTED TO YOU, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND
Every treatment begins with thorough diagnostics and an open conversation to gather all necessary medical history data, as well as your wishes and expectations. Together, we review the current condition of your teeth and bite, discuss treatment options, and define realistic expectations — without pressure and without haste.
In therapy, we use modern orthodontic methods, including clear aligners and aesthetic fixed appliances, and we adapt treatment to the patient’s daily obligations. Throughout the entire process, we ensure continuity, clear communication, and personal guidance of the therapy by dr.sc. Tihana Zibar Belašić, dr.med.dent., specialist in orthodontics.
The goal of therapy is not only the aesthetic correction of the front teeth, but achieving a result that will remain stable and functional in the long term.
